This low plant stand, known as a 'patyczak', reflects the rockabilly aesthetics of 1960s Germany and is crafted from a combination of wood, metal, and plastic. The tabletop measures 60 × 35 cm, featuring rounded corners and a dark, marbled pattern in black, brown, and beige tones. It is bordered by a wide, metallic gold-tone trim that creates a decorative, light-reflecting frame. The four slender, slightly tapered wooden legs are stained in a warm reddish-brown and finished with almost black end caps. The legs are screw-in type, typical of mid-century modern furniture. The surface of the tabletop is smooth with a subtle gloss, while the legs have a matte texture. Signs of age, such as patina on the metal trim and minor surface marks, are visible but the piece remains in good, authentic condition with no major damage, emphasizing its vintage character. The form of this piece tells a story of the 1960s, where rockabilly met the relaxed spirit of modernism and interiors gained both lightness and color. The gold trim catches the light, evoking the atmosphere of vintage living rooms, where plant stands and side tables served as subtle yet distinctive accents. Warm wood tones and the geometric simplicity of the form echo the optimism and freedom of an era when design balanced function and decoration. The plant stand can be paired with a boldly colored planter or a leafy plant to highlight its retro origins. It would work well next to a low mid
