This collectible decorative plate, designed by Björn Wiinblad for Rosenthal in the 1980s, is made of high-quality porcelain. The composition is defined by a deep, saturated cobalt blue that serves as both the background and the wide ornamental border. The rim is adorned with repeating Art Deco-inspired gold motifs, while the central scene – inspired by the adventures of Aladdin from 'One Thousand and One Nights' – is rendered in Wiinblad's signature dreamlike style: expressive figures, fluid lines, and vibrant, contrasting colors (gold, yellow, orange, red, lavender, mint green, pastel blue, white). The gold accents have a glossy, light-catching finish that contrasts with the satin and matte painted areas. The reverse bears the 'Rosenthal studio-line' signature and the series and plate number. The diameter of the plate is 16.5 cm. Preserved in very good condition, with no visible damage or signs of wear.This plate tells a story of the 1980s, when European porcelain intersected with the poetry of the Orient.
