ABOUT PRODUCTID 18096
This decorative plate, designed by Marianne Starck for the Danish manufacturer Michael Andersen & Søn in the 1960s, is a refined example of high-quality glazed stoneware emblematic of mid-century Scandinavian design. Measuring 17.5 cm in diameter and 3.5 cm in height, the plate showcases a bold geometric pattern, where deep, cool cobalt blue dominates, complemented by touches of turquoise, subtle violet, and brown accents. The glossy, almost glass-like glaze in the central section intensifies the vibrancy and depth of the colors, while the rim and outer edge feature a matte, textured finish in dark navy with a speckled effect. The proportions and form reflect the mid-century modern ethos: simplicity, rounded contours, and a focus on abstract, geometric decoration. The craftsmanship is evident in the precise, hand-applied glaze and harmonious color transitions. The plate is preserved in very good vintage condition with no visible chips, cracks, or damage
