This decorative ceramic plate, Bay Keramik model No. 435 “Tosca”, was produced in Germany in the early 1960s. The asymmetrical kidney-shaped form reflects key mid-century modern trends, with geometric divisions meeting the organic softness of freely drawn lines. Three broad, matte yellow bands—hand-painted and outlined by uneven navy blue strokes—define its distinctive composition, while the background is a light beige-grey with prominent crackle-glaze, creating visual depth and emphasizing its vintage character. A subtle gold accent rims the edge, lending a discreet touch of mid-century luxury. The ceramic’s gently undulating surface and flawless glaze show no chips or cracks, and the minor irregularities attest to its handmade, authentic origin.
