This large Art Deco ceramic platter, designed in 1935 by Raymond Chevallier for Boch Frères Keramis, exemplifies the refined craftsmanship and geometry of the interwar period. Crafted from ceramic, the piece features a wide, architectural rim with a bold, granular texture and a central medallion that is smooth and hand-enameled. The rim is finished in a matte, earthy metallic glaze with a subtle shimmer, while the center displays a stylized Art Deco scene: a nude female figure feeding a deer, rendered in ochre, beige, black, white, and muted blue. Original markings are visible on the underside, including the artist’s “RC” monogram, Boch Frères Keramis stamp, and serial and mold numbers. The generous proportions—33.5 cm in diameter, 5.5 cm high—give it a commanding presence.
