The 'Asteroid' cabaret platter is a design by Jan Sylwester Drost, created for the Ząbkowice Glassworks in Poland during the 1960s. Crafted from pressed soda-lime glass in a cool, transparent tone, the dish is distinguished by a striking, three-dimensional pattern of raised droplets that cover the entire surface. The rim is smooth and gently undulating, subtly softening the geometric rhythm of the motif. Three integrated, ribbed glass feet lift the platter above the tabletop, lending it both visual lightness and stability. The finish alternates between matte areas and glossy highlights on the raised droplets, accentuating the interplay of light and shadow. The glass is substantial, with a slightly grainy texture on the underside, and the construction is seamless, with the feet molded as part of the main body.
