This large porcelain serving platter from Edme Samson’s Paris manufactory, produced in the early 20th century, exemplifies the artistry of French ceramics inspired by Sèvres traditions of the 18th century. Measuring 33 cm in diameter, the platter is crafted from high-quality porcelain with a creamy white glaze base. A cool cobalt blue rim encircles the piece, decorated with a delicate scale-patterned motif and finished with hand-applied gilding. Ribbon-like bands in lilac, adorned with botanical painting and satiny gold highlights, undulate across the surface, embracing nine round medallions filled with finely rendered polychrome floral bouquets. The central medallion repeats the floral motif, visually tying the composition together, while lustrous gilded accents on the rim and within the floral details amplify the platter's decorative richness. The surface is pristine and highly polished, all decorations are hand-painted, and a manufactory mark authenticates its Samson origin.
