ABOUT PRODUCTID 35857
This Art Deco pocket cigarette case dates from the late 1920s to the 1930s. Crafted from silver-plated white metal, the case features a guilloché surface with rhythmic, geometric decoration: alternating vertical stripes on the front—some finely engraved with delicate wave motifs, others left smooth—create a dynamic interplay of light and shadow. At the center is an oval cartouche with a gilded finish, intended for engraving, while the interior is lined with a gold-toned surface. The proportions are compact and harmonious, with gently curved sides and subtly beveled edges that highlight the precision typical of personal accessories from the Art Deco era. The interior is fitted with two rows of original elastic cigarette holders, and the spring-loaded clasp mechanism with a round button operates smoothly and reliably. The button is signed 'ED'. The case is preserved in very good condition, displaying only minor signs of age, such as faint scratches and a slight patina to the silvered surface. This cigarette case evokes the ambiance of the interwar years: the pulse of a bustling metropolis, elegant evenings, and a world where every accessory defined personal style. Its disciplined geometry and cool metallic sheen recall the modern spirit of the 1930s, when the strict rhythm of guilloché patterns mirrored the fascination with progress and the dynamic tempo of the era. The gilded interior hints at a touch of luxury designed to accompany the everyday—each opening gesture a small ritual, a flicker of brilliance
