ABOUT PRODUCTID 41643
The 'First Date' poster is a contemporary photographic work by Danish artist Henrik Bulow, published by Paper Collective. Measuring 30 x 40 cm, it presents a meticulously arranged still life with a distinct retro-modernist character. A saturated, warm red dominates the tabletop, serving as a backdrop for a pastel peach-pink porcelain cup and saucer with shell-like relief, a bright yellow geometric ashtray, and a pink lighter. At the center of the composition, hands with yellow and red manicured nails appear, while details such as cigarette butts and ash in the tray add narrative depth. The photograph features mostly matte surfaces, a subtle gloss on the porcelain, and the smooth texture of the fabric tablecloth. Bulow’s work speaks through color and gesture, referencing the visual codes of mid-century modern and contemporary artistic style. The bold red acts as a stage for everyday intimacy, while the mix of pastel and vivid accents creates a tension between nostalgia and modernity. The arrangement evokes a suspended moment—a gesture lingering longer than conversation. Form and detail together capture the atmosphere of a personal encounter, crystallized in a frame with palpable dramaturgy. This poster will work well as a standalone piece on a light wall in a living room, bedroom, or home office. It can be paired with minimalist frames in white, black, or natural wood to highlight the graphic energy of the composition. Combined with furniture of clean lines and textiles in subdued, pastel colors, the poster will complete the space, lending it a contemporary yet subtly nostalgic note. For bolder interiors, it may be juxtaposed with other vintage or mid-century inspired works to emphasize the uniqueness of a curated wall collection. Before shipping, the poster is rolled and packed in a sturdy tube, ensuring safe transport and preserving the pristine quality of the paper.
