ABOUT PRODUCTID 17527
This 1930s porcelain preserve set from the renowned Polish manufactory Ćmielów is a representative example of interwar Polish ceramics, subtly informed by Art Deco influences. The set comprises a large bowl (20 x 20 x 6 cm) and six smaller bowls (9 x 9 x 2.5 cm), crafted from warm ivory-white porcelain with a glossy, smooth glaze. Each piece is adorned with delicately hand-painted floral motifs in pastel pinks, yellows, greens and occasional red accents. Particularly striking is the intricate pierced rim—an airy openwork pattern formed by regular oval perforations all along the edges—complemented by shimmering gold gilding that traces each rim. Generous, flared edges transitioning into deep centers give the bowls both decorative impact and practical utility. The set remains in very good condition: the porcelain is smooth, free from chips or cracks, the gilding retains its uniform gloss with no visible wear, there are no signs of restoration, and the floral motifs exhibit clarity and stylistic coherence reflecting the era. This ensemble weaves a narrative of Polish elegance from the interwar years—a period when refined function and visual sophistication went hand in hand. The floral patterns and openwork borders seem to whisper of salon afternoons, family gatherings, and the everyday rituals elevated by careful attention to detail. The forms resonate with harmonious geometry, as if the porcelain wishes to remind us that daily life can hold a quiet sense of celebration, while the rhythmic perforations introduce an echo of modernist discipline. The set would
