Each LUDISM project refers to legends, myths, and folk tales. 'Len' is the Polish word for flax—a fabric that, in Slavic culture, is more than just a material. It is a spirit rooted in fertility and the promise of abundant harvests. A quiet thread connecting nature and prosperity, flax embodies subtle symbols of growth and abundance. Made and designed in Poland by Ola Niepsuj, Karol Pasternak, and Piotr Maciaszek. LEGEND: In Slavic folklore, flax was not just a fabric—it was woven from the very threads of myth. It was believed that flax carried the spirit of the earth itself, and those who tended it were in harmony with the rhythms of nature. Some stories tell of flax flowers blooming only under the watchful eye of the moon, while others whisper of the goddess Mokosh, who blessed the harvests and protected the hands that cultivated them.
