This silver ring with hematite, created by the ORNO Artistic Handicraft Cooperative in Warsaw between 1963 and 1986, embodies the modernist approach of postwar Polish jewelry. Crafted from solid 925 sterling silver, the band features an organic, sculptural silhouette with dynamic, asymmetrical lines – splitting and curving to seamlessly embrace the central stone. The focal point is a domed, natural hematite cabochon, its deep, metallic sheen contrasting with the ring’s soft, matte-satin silver finish. The underside bears original ORNO markings and Warsaw assay office stamps. The ring weighs 15 g, the crown measures 2.9 × 3.3 cm, and the inner diameter is 19 mm (approx. PL size 20). It remains in very good condition, with a uniform patina on the silver and an undamaged stone – no signs of repair or defects. This piece resonates with the voice of 1960s modernist Warsaw: bold asymmetry meets gentle, flowing lines, while the mirror-like hematite takes center stage like the eye of a contemporary sculpture. The silver, softly muted by its natural patina, speaks of the passage of time and the tactile sensibility characteristic of ORNO’s craft. Worn on the hand, the form almost seems to move – capturing a moment of transformation and the dynamic energy of the Polish silver school. The ring can be paired
