ABOUT PRODUCTID 12557
This Rococo-style sugar bowl, manufactured by the Norblin factory in Warsaw at the beginning of the 20th century, showcases silver-plated brass with finely executed relief decoration. The rectangular body with gently canted corners stands on four ornate, scrolling feet. Its surface is embellished with rocaille motifs and floral ornaments indicative of late Rococo and early Art Nouveau. The lid features an openwork handle detailed with acanthus leaves. The overall finish is matte, accented by subtle polished highlights where the relief is most pronounced. Delicate signs of patina and use are visible mainly along edges and in recessed areas, but there are no structural damages. The craftsmanship reveals crisp casting, seamless joints, and engraved monograms, attesting to the object's artisanal quality. Overall, it is preserved in very good condition, maintaining the authentic texture of silver-plated metal and all original decorative details. The sugar bowl brings with it the spirit of its era—a blend of Rococo lightness and the emergent gravity of Art Nouveau interiors at the turn of the century. Its cool, silvery patina evokes the rituals of historic salons, where a decorative vessel such as this was as much a symbol of hospitality as it was a practical accessory. Swirling ornamentation conjures nature-inspired patterns—volutes chasing leaves—while the gentle aging of the surface tells a quiet story of past gatherings over tea.The sugar bowl may be placed atop a classic coffee table, an inlaid tray, or a sideboard, where it serves as both functional vessel and collectible highlight. When paired with turn-of-the-century porcelain, hand-cut glass, or other brass accessories, it underscores historical arrangements. It fits both in interiors styled for eclectic collecting and in minimalist spaces, where its ornate form acts as a conscious counterpoint to simple lines and smooth surfaces.
