ABOUT PRODUCTID 13920
Designed by Ludwik Fiedorowicz for Staszic Glassworks (HSG Tarnowiec), this vase is a vibrant example of Polish art glass from the 1970s. Crafted from translucent, high-gloss red glass, its proportions are striking: a broad, rounded base tapers fluidly into a slender neck, finished with a dramatic, ruffled rim. Three matte white stripes encircle the lower portion of the body, while two small white applied glass drops are positioned symmetrically beneath the rim on opposite sides. The seamless construction and flawlessly smooth texture underscore its skilled craftsmanship. The styling references mid-century modern sensibilities: decoration is restrained, allowing vivid color and clean geometry to take the lead. The vase shows no damage; the surface remains glossy and well-preserved. Condition: good, with no chips or cracks, only minor signs of age-related wear. The red glass speaks to the optimistic spirit of 1970s Poland—a time when bold simplicity and saturated hues sought to uplift the everyday. The geometric silhouette and details recall an era unafraid of experimentation, with every element—from the ruffled lip to the white stripes and droplets—reflecting the artisan’s attention to proportion and story. Even empty, the vase captures and reflects light, introducing a gently shifting play of color and luminosity; its presence communicates energy and materiality. The vase may be displayed on a low, veneered sideboard or a pale wood surface to spotlight its saturated red and modernist lines. It pairs well with furnishings of simple, mid-century modern profiles, and with minimal
