This antique Chinese Art Deco rug from the 1920s, measuring 270 × 350 cm including fringes, is hand-knotted from high-quality wool on a cotton foundation. The central field is rendered in a rich, cool magenta, bordered by a wide band of deep navy blue with a subtle sheen. Scattered asymmetrically across both the central area and the border are hand-knotted botanical motifs—stylized branches, flowers, and a crane—hallmarks of early 20th-century Chinese Art Deco. Accent colors such as light blue, turquoise, gold, orange, and pink enliven the composition with expressive yet balanced detail.
