ABOUT PRODUCTID 10704
This hand-knotted, nomadic Beluch rug from early 20th-century Afghanistan was crafted by migrating tribal groups. Made entirely from high-quality wool—both warp and weft—the rug features a dense pile with a knot density of approximately 200,000 knots per square meter and a thickness of about 9 mm. It measures 100 × 200 cm including fringes. The composition centers on deep, earthy rust-brown shades, accented by vivid red geometric motifs in a repeating diamond pattern. A beige zigzag border frames the central field, while the edges and ends are adorned with horizontal stripes in browns, reds, and beige, finished with natural wool fringes. The surface is matte, with a subtle patina and visible irregularities from the hand-knotting process. The rug is in good vintage condition—signs of wear appear on the edges and fringes, but there are no major damages or repairs; its authenticity is underscored by its preserved, timeworn state. This rug carries the story of Central Asian nomads: caravan journeys across steppes
