This handwoven Beluch nomadic rug from Afghanistan, dating to the 1970s, demonstrates the mastery of tribal artisanship. Crafted entirely from high-quality wool for both warp and weft, it features a dense, even pile (approximately 200,000 knots/m²) with a matte finish and a soft, subtly lustrous texture. The dominant deep burgundy red is set against black and dark navy backgrounds, accented with touches of cream, orange, and subtle yellow. The composition is defined by two large central medallions and richly decorated borders with traditional geometric Beluch motifs. Edges are finished with hand-knotted, natural undyed wool fringes. Its elongated, narrow proportions (56 × 135 cm) make it ideal as a runner or decorative accent, robust and resistant to use.
