ABOUT PRODUCTID 28977
This vintage nomadic Beluch rug, handwoven in Afghanistan around the turn of the 20th century, exemplifies the authentic tribal craftsmanship of the Persian-Afghan border region. Crafted entirely from wool—both warp and weft—the rug features a dense, tight pile (approximately 200,000 knots per square meter) with a matte finish and a thickness of about 9 mm. The dominant color is a deep, cool burgundy, enriched with accents of mustard yellow, olive green, ivory, brick red, and dark blue, resulting in a striking multicolor effect. The central field is occupied by an elongated hexagonal medallion adorned with intricate geometric motifs, surrounded by a border with tribal patterns and smaller geometric shapes. Its proportions are characteristic of corridor or prayer rugs (110 × 205 cm with fringes), and the hand-knotted fringes, along with minor irregularities in shape and slight color migration, attest to its handmade authenticity. Condition: good, with a natural patina and gentle signs of age-appropriate wear, no major damage or repairs. The
