This hand-knotted Persian Bidjar Takab rug, measuring 68 by 105 cm including fringes, originates from western Iran—a region renowned for its dense and durable carpets. The pile is crafted from high-quality wool, while the foundation is cotton, resulting in a robust and weighty construction. The design features a classic layout: a central navy blue hexagonal medallion filled with intricate Herati-mahi and stylized floral motifs, surrounded by a dense field of geometric ornamentation and blossoms. The wide border is richly adorned with repeating floral patterns in hues of burnt orange, ivory, and blue, harmonizing with the overall palette.
