ABOUT PRODUCTID 19467
The hand-knotted Bidjar Takab carpet from western Iran is a hallmark of early 20th-century Persian textile artistry. It features a dense, heavy weave—its durability ensured by a pile of wool at roughly 490,000 knots per square meter, anchored by a robust cotton foundation. The composition draws on a rich palette dominated by warm terracotta and red hues, balanced with navy, sky blue, olive green, and golden yellow. The lustrous, smooth surface and neatly trimmed white fringes reflect authentic handcraftsmanship. The main field is adorned with a repeating Herati-mahi motif—diamond medallions, stylized florals, paisley elements, and angular tendrils—while a wide border showcases alternating geometric floral medallions surrounded by undulating vine patterns, hallmarks of the Bidjar style.
