The hand-knotted Bidjar Takab rug originates from western Iran, exemplifying the artistry of Kurdish weavers at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Its construction features a dense, double-knot weave: the pile is made of high-quality, lustrous wool, while the foundation is solid cotton. Notable for its weight and compact structure, the rug offers a knot density of approximately 250,000 knots per square meter and a thickness of around 10 mm. The central field is dominated by a deep, saturated red, adorned with a large medallion in beige, navy, and light blue, accented by touches of gold and terracotta.
