ABOUT PRODUCTID 20120
This hand-knotted Buchara rug from Pakistan, dating from the 1990s, is made of high-quality, densely woven wool with a soft, lightly lustrous surface. Measuring 265 × 160 cm, the composition is based on a repeating pattern of octagonal 'gul' medallions, each outlined in black and filled with geometric details in shades of cream, navy blue, and subtle orange. The central field is framed by a multi-banded border featuring a dense arrangement of geometric and stylized floral motifs in deep reds, navy, black, and orange accents. The construction is robust, with precisely arranged patterns and neatly finished edges, complemented by short, light-colored fringes. The pile appears even and resilient, while the colors remain saturated. The rug is preserved in excellent condition with no signs of wear—professionally cleaned and ready for display.Within this textile, one can sense the spirit of the late twentieth century, when Eastern craftsmanship met a Western fascination with geometric order. The depth of ruby red and the rhythmic pattern of medallions evoke interiors where every detail is considered. The Buchara's interpretation of Art Deco motifs seems to 'whisper' of daily rituals and conversations, while the soft, shimmering surface changes with the light, recalling the ambiance of refined salons. This rug can be paired with both classic and contemporary living room furnishings. It would work well against light wooden floors
