The rug features a dense, soft, subtly lustrous wool pile and a robust cotton foundation. The main color is a warm, vibrant red with a slight sheen, forming a backdrop for intricate geometric patterns in deep navy, cream, dark brown, gold, and light blue. The central field is arranged in small, chessboard-like compartments, bordered by a wide band of repeating floral and geometric motifs. The construction is harmonious and symmetrical, characteristic of mid-20th-century Dżuszegan pieces.
