The Farsistan rug by Lano Carpets, offered by Persopolis, is a large, machine-woven wool carpet measuring 250 x 355 cm (plus fringes), produced in Belgium in the 21st century. Its design is a direct homage to classic Persian carpets: the main field is structured by a geometric diamond lattice, each enclosing a multi-pointed star, while intricate floral and botanical motifs fill the spaces in between. A rich border with the boteh (paisley) motif frames the composition, emphasizing its rhythmic, classical character. The color palette blends warm terracotta, coppery rust, sage green, cream, and deep navy with subtle touches of light blue and gold. The surface is matte, the weave is dense and fine, and the pile is soft and resilient—evidence of the high-quality wool used in production.
