ABOUT PRODUCTID 29035
This hand-knotted Persian Ghom rug was crafted in the holy city of Qom, Iran, exemplifying the skill and precision of local weaving traditions. It is made from high-quality kork wool, sourced exclusively from the neck of sheep, resulting in a dense, silky pile with a characteristic lustrous finish. The cotton foundation provides stability, while the composition features a deep, warm red field contrasted by a navy blue central medallion and a wealth of intricate floral motifs in cream, beige, light blue, gold, green, and ivory. The border is richly decorated with repeating botanical and geometric elements, and the overall proportions are harmonious. Edges are neatly finished, with intact and clean fringes. The knot density is approximately 360,000 knots/m², and the pile height is about 10 mm. The rug is in very good vintage condition, with no visible damage or signs of heavy wear. This rug tells a story in the classic Persian idiom, where floral ornamentation symbolizes perpetual abundance and harmony with nature. The lustrous wool reflects light like a dawn-lit pool, adding depth and subtle movement to the composition. Ghom speaks to interiors in a refined language—its ornamentation, colors, and silky texture
