ABOUT PRODUCTID 28978
This nomadic Hamadan rug, measuring approximately 140 × 210 cm, was hand-knotted in northwest Iran—a region renowned for its centuries-old textile traditions. Crafted from high-quality wool on a cotton foundation, it features a dense, slightly coarse pile with a knot density of about 200,000 knots per square meter and a thickness of 10 mm. The dominant palette consists of saturated warm red and deep navy, accented by ivory, yellow, orange, and light blue, creating a lively multicolored effect. A bold, stepped central medallion is framed by stylized floral motifs and multiple geometric borders, while the matte finish highlights the authenticity of handweaving. Hand-tied fringes complete the composition. The rug is in good condition: localised pile thinning and minor wear are visible, but there are no major repairs, preserving its original vintage character. This rug embodies the spirit of early 20th-century Persian nomadic tribes, when textiles served not only as decoration but as woven narratives in color and rhythm. The deep reds and blues evoke a sense of rootedness, while the strong geometric forms speak to traditions passed down through generations. Each sign of age—subtle wear, minor thinning—marks a chapter in
