This hand-knotted Persian wool rug from the Hamadan region of Iran, dating to the 1970s, measures approximately 225x130 cm including fringes. The dominant color is a deep navy blue, serving as the backdrop for a densely patterned blend of geometric and floral motifs. The central medallion features shades of cream, burgundy, and muted pink, surrounded by stylized flowers and swirling vines in red, orange, olive green, and light blue. A multi-layered border repeats geometric and floral elements in rustic tones of rust, salmon, brown, and beige, with subtle accents of black and blue. The wool pile is soft with a slightly lustrous finish, densely and finely knotted, and the edges are finished with traditional hand-knotted fringes.
