ABOUT PRODUCTID 15275
The Kashmiri Indo Bidjar rug, hand-knotted in India in the tradition of the classic Persian carpet, exhibits a wealth of geometric detail and meticulously arranged floral motifs. Its lustrous wool pile in an ivory or pale beige hue creates a luminous, light-reflecting field, while the bold, wide borders in muted rose are enriched with accents of olive green, soft blue, and subtle gold, delivering a harmonious and refined palette. The densely knotted field (approx. 250,000 knots/m²) showcases the iconic repeating Herati-mahi (fish motif) and a traditional central medallion, revealing Persian influences reinterpreted through an Indian lens. Its strong cotton foundation lends the rug density and resilience characteristic of Bidjar carpets. Even, straight edges and lengthy, white fringes complete the construction, with a uniform, plush pile that remains constant throughout—clearly well-preserved with no visible stains, fading, or restoration.
