The Indo Saroug Mir rug, hand-knotted in India in the early 21st century, embodies the classic Persian Mir design in an impressive 230 × 340 cm format (including fringes). The central field features a repeating, small-scale boteh (paisley) motif in dark brown and navy blue set against a warm, creamy beige background. Patterns are crisp and well defined, with a knot density of approximately 250,000 knots per square meter, resulting in a dense, soft wool pile about 10 mm thick. The wide border is composed of several bands: slender geometric motifs in navy and beige, and a main band adorned with intricate scrolling vines and floral details in shades of rust, orange, navy, and cream. The pile is made from wool, while the cream-colored fringes are cotton, giving the rug a natural softness and subtle matte sheen.
