This antique Caucasian Kazak rug, handwoven in Azerbaijan at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, exemplifies the craftsmanship of nomadic weavers from the Caucasus. Constructed entirely from naturally dyed wool—both pile and warp—it features a dense, robust structure with approximately 200,000 knots per square meter and a thickness of about 9 mm. The color palette is anchored by a rich, warm red, accentuated by deep navy blue, forest green, ochre yellow, ivory, as well as subtle highlights of light blue and brown.
