ABOUT PRODUCTID 28975
This handwoven Caucasian Kazak rug from Azerbaijan, dating from the early 20th century, exemplifies the region’s classic geometric design language. Crafted from high-quality, naturally dyed wool on a cotton foundation, it features a dense, soft pile approximately 9 mm thick and a weaving density of about 200,000 knots per square meter. The composition is built around a bright ivory field, displaying three large, eight-pointed star medallions in blue, red, and yellow, each filled with intricate smaller geometric patterns. Surrounding the medallions are smaller motifs—crosses, diamonds, and stylized florals—arranged in a distinctly geometric style. The multi-layered border alternates deep indigo and red with repeating geometric patterns and accents of yellow, orange, and white. The rug has a matte finish, visible cotton fringes at both ends, and a tight, even weave that attests to its skilled craftsmanship. It is preserved in very good condition, with no stains, wear, or damages; the colors remain vivid and the fringes intact and clean. The Kazak rug’s form echoes
