This Persian Kerman rug, measuring 300 × 400 cm, is hand-knotted from high-quality wool on a cotton foundation, exemplifying the classic Persian craftsmanship of the early 20th century. The central field is rendered in a deep, warm red, complemented by a prominent central medallion and elaborate floral motifs woven in shades of ivory, light blue, beige, and subtle gold. A broad border in cream and light blue encloses the composition, finished with a dark navy outer frame adorned with intricate botanical ornamentation. The pile is dense (approx. 250,000 knots/m²), soft, semi-gloss, and pleasant to the touch, with hand-tied fringes in a natural hue. A woven signature in the pile authenticates its origin from the workshops of Kerman in southeastern Iran. The rug shows localized signs of use, mainly areas of worn pile, but overall remains in good, authentic condition, with no major repairs or damages. This rug carries echoes of Persian palaces and homes, where patterns wove stories of secret gardens beneath one's feet.
