This hand-knotted Persian Meshed rug, measuring 210 x 325 cm including the fringes, originates from the Khorasan province in Iran and dates to the early 20th century. Crafted from premium-quality wool on a cotton foundation, it features a dense structure and a moderately lustrous, soft pile approximately 10 mm thick. The elaborate design centers on a large medallion, radiating intricate, symmetrical floral and vine motifs. The dominant color is a deep, cool red accented by shades of dark navy, ivory, cream, soft pink, blue, and subtle gold details. The richly layered border presents repeating botanical patterns, framed by narrower decorative stripes.
