The Spot Square Walnut / Lichen 157907 is a large rectangular wool rug measuring 250x350 cm, designed by Orla Kiely. Its surface features a graphic composition of six large squares, arranged in two columns and three rows, alternating between muted olive green and warm beige backgrounds. Each square contains a dark walnut-brown oval or circle with a slightly irregular outline, emphasizing the organic character of the design. The color palette is earthy and harmonious, dominated by olive green, beige, and deep walnut brown. The pile is thick and plush, with densely packed fibers. Edges are straight and precisely finished, while color transitions remain crisp and clear. Made from natural wool, the rug is intended for indoor use. The rug’s form combines the graphic discipline of a grid with the softness of organic shapes, evoking associations with an enlarged, abstract image of nature seen from above. The pattern references mid-century modern aesthetics, but the proportions and softness of the colors give it a contemporary, universal expression. This rug would work well in a spacious living room, acting as a principal decorative accent against light flooring. It can be paired with furniture in simple shapes made of light wood, or with low sofas in beige, green, or navy tones. Surrounded by opaline glass lamps and monochromatic, natural textiles, the pattern will acquire additional softness and tranquility. It is worth combining with matte ceramics and
