The Sunflower Yellow 060006 rug, designed by Orla Kiely, is a round, 200 cm diameter piece crafted from dense, hand-tufted wool. Its surface features a bold, stylized floral motif inspired by 1970s and mid-century modern aesthetics. The background is a warm off-white or light beige, while the central pattern radiates in concentric rings of matte black, charcoal gray, olive green, ochre, mustard, and sunflower yellow. The rug stands out for its thick, soft pile, clean rounded edges, and precise craftsmanship, with crisp color transitions and a consistent texture throughout. The rug's form references retro graphic design, where colors form undulating, pulsating circles. The interplay of matte black and saturated yellows evokes the rays of the sun, while the graphic composition brings rhythm and vibrancy. The overall effect is a visual focal point, blending playful color with bold, decorative geometry. The thick, plush pile offers a sense of comfort and softness underfoot. This rug works well in a living room or lounge as a central accent, especially alongside furniture with simple lines and a neutral palette. It can be paired with low sofas in shades of grey, beige, or olive green, and its character is enhanced by accessories in natural wood, matte ceramics, or glass. The space gains a sense of lightness when surrounded by plain textiles, completed by diffused warm lighting. Made entirely of wool, the rug has a weight of 4500 g/m2 and a thick, soft pile. Intended for indoor use, it features durable colors and a natural composition. The product is hand-crafted, eco-friendly, and lies flat on the floor.
