This hand-knotted Indian Tebriz rug draws inspiration from the classic Persian designs of the late 19th and early 20th century. The foundation is made of cotton, while the dense, compact pile uses high-quality wool. The surface features a deep, warm red as the background for intricate floral and arabesque motifs, accented by cream, beige, gold, green, blue, and black. The central field is richly decorated with symmetrical, stylized flowers and winding vines, framed by a wide border characteristic of traditional Tebriz carpets. The lustrous finish highlights the wool’s quality, and the tightly woven edges with long, well-preserved fringes reflect skilled craftsmanship. The rug measures 200 by 295 cm including the fringes, has a medium pile height of approximately 10 mm, and a knot density of about 160,000 knots per square meter.
