ABOUT PRODUCTID 42801
This handwoven Yalameh Persian rug, measuring 220 x 305 cm including fringes, is a distinctive example of traditional craftsmanship by nomadic weavers from southwestern Iran, particularly the regions of Fars, Shiraz, and Isfahan. Entirely made of wool—both pile and foundation—it features a knot density of approximately 200,000 knots per square meter and a thickness of about 10 mm. The deep, slightly matte red ground hosts three large navy blue diamond medallions filled with intricate geometric patterns, complemented by stylized floral, tree, and animal motifs in shades of blue, cream, orange, yellow, and pink. The multi-banded border with repeating star and flower designs and the uneven fringes highlight the rug's authenticity. The piece is preserved in good vintage condition, with visible pile wear and minor discolorations typical of late 20th-century rugs, but no major repairs or modern interventions. This rug tells the story of nomadic artisans for whom every motif was a chronicle
