ABOUT PRODUCTID 19310
This Afshar runner, measuring 105 × 285 cm and handwoven in 19th-century Iran, represents the finest in Persian tribal craftsmanship. The rug features a semi-matte, high-quality wool pile on a cotton foundation, resulting in a dense, durable weave and a subtle, organic sheen to its fibers. The color palette blends earthy brick red and deep burgundy as the base, enriched by soft ivory, a spectrum of blues, as well as accents in yellow and orange. The central panel is decorated with a repeated symmetrical row of stylized geometric trees set against a cream ground, while the broad borders display intricate floral, zoomorphic, and geometric rosette motifs. Weaving density is approximately 200,000 knots per square meter with a pile thickness of around 10 mm and hand-finished fringes. A gentle patina, local abrasions along the edges, and areas of subtle color migration (abrash) are present, all in keeping with the textile's antique age; the rug is in excellent collectible condition with no significant damage
