This Dosemealtı Anatolian runner, handwoven in the 1960s in southern Turkey, features a bold geometric medallion pattern rooted in the region’s weaving tradition. The dominant deep red, with a matte finish, is complemented by navy blue, brown, green, and white, creating a dynamic yet harmonious palette. The border is adorned with a repeating floral motif, while the central field is enriched with angular, stylized forms. Crafted entirely from pure sheep’s wool—both pile and warp—using natural plant and mineral dyes, the rug displays a low, evenly worn pile and tightly woven fringes that emphasize its artisanal authenticity. Visible symmetrical knots point to the classic Giordes knot construction. Its elongated proportions, 185 x 76 cm, make it especially suitable for narrow, extended spaces.
