This nomadic Hamadan runner, hand-knotted in northwest Iran, encapsulates the essence of early 20th-century Persian craftsmanship. Made from high-quality wool on a cotton foundation, it measures approximately 85 by 206 cm. The dominant color is a warm, muted red with a matte finish typical of natural dyes, densely decorated with repeating geometric and floral motifs highlighted by accents of deep indigo, ivory, olive green, and brown. The border is distinctly marked by multiple bands, the outermost a dark brown adorned with stylized floral elements, clearly separating the rich central field from the edges. The pile is compact and medium in height (approx. 9 mm), with a slightly coarse feel and visible irregularities that confirm its handmade authenticity.
