ABOUT PRODUCTID 30332
This hand-knotted Indo Saroug Persian runner, crafted in India in the 1980s, measures approximately 77 × 300 cm including fringes. The pile, made of high-quality wool, is dense and compact with a medium height of about 10 mm, while the foundation and fringes are cotton. The dominant color is a rich, warm red with a slightly lustrous finish, complemented by a wide border featuring classic Persian floral motifs in deep navy blue, gold, and beige. The central field is adorned with an intricate, symmetrical floral and foliate design in shades of cream, olive green, light blue, and dark brown, all finished with carefully knotted white fringes. The weaving density is around 300,000 knots per square meter, the surface is smooth with no visible signs of heavy wear, and both edges and fringes are intact. The rug is preserved in very good condition, authentic and with only minimal signs of use typical for vintage pieces, with no visible traces of restoration. This rug tells a story of Persian tradition, interpreted by Indian artisans at the close of the 20th century. Its lustrous red field and expressive floral ornaments evoke the atmosphere of historic homes where richly decorated textiles commanded the heart of the living space. Each detail—from arabesque leaves to subtle golden accents
