This French salt shaker from the early 20th century embodies tableware craftsmanship characteristic of the late Belle Époque and early Art Deco periods. The pressed glass body is shaped with balanced proportions: a broad, stable base, narrowing neck, and gently domed lid. The glass, in a slightly yellowed transparent tone due to age, is adorned with a rich geometric star-faceted design that gives a crystal-cut effect typical of its era. The lid, made from silver-plated brass with a matte-satin finish, features numerous precisely arranged holes of varying sizes. The threaded closure exemplifies traditional metalworking, ensuring practical functionality. The salt shaker stands approximately 6 cm tall and measures 4 cm in diameter. Encapsulated within this small object is the poetry of French mealtime rituals from the turn of the 20th century. The transparent, decorated glass recalls the stylized elegance of modernist Paris. The subdued sheen and gentle patina of the metal top evoke the quiet luxury of an era when even utilitarian tableware was crafted with artisanal attention to detail. Such a salt shaker could be displayed on a classic wooden buffet or paired eclectically with other vintage glass and metal accessories. It might be combined with Art Nouveau porcelain, faceted stemware,
