This collectible salt spoon, crafted by the Fraget manufactory in Warsaw between 1896 and 1910, exemplifies the decorative artistry of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Made of white brass with a silver-plated surface, it features a cool, slightly matte finish, with visible patina and gentle silver wear—most notably on the bowl and along the handle edges. The handle is adorned with Art Nouveau ornamentation: flowing, curvilinear lines and stylized botanical motifs, culminating in an engraved monogram within a cartouche at the end. The bowl is rectangular with softly scalloped edges, shallow and wide—ideal for serving salt. The construction is cohesive and solid, with seamless transitions between elements. The reverse side bears the clear maker’s mark. The piece is preserved in very good condition, retaining authentic patina and minor silver loss, with no significant damage. This spoon carries the spirit of the Belle Époque—a period when even the smallest utensils were infused with a sense of luxury and ceremonial care. Its Art Nouveau decoration speaks of a fascination with nature and the organic line, while the monogram hints at the personal stories of its former owners.
