This late 19th-century sentimental locket exemplifies Austro-Hungarian jewelry crafted between 1890 and 1910 in the geometric Art Nouveau (Secession) style. Made from gold-plated brass using the double technique, it displays a warm, yellow-gold tone with a subtly matte, aged finish. The round locket features a delicately engraved border, while its only ornament is a small ruby-colored stone set near the lower edge of the front. The construction includes a sturdy, integrated bail and jump ring for suspension. When opened, the locket reveals two compartments for photographs, staying true to its original sentimental purpose.
