ABOUT PRODUCTID 6075
This decorative Hichozan Shinpo plate originates from 19th-century Japan and is crafted from high-quality Japanese faience. The surface features a warm, slightly creamy white glaze with a soft gloss. The central area is adorned with hand-painted floral motifs in shades of green, pink, and red, with winding stems and red hexagonal accents. The rim is enriched with alternating panels in deep cobalt blue, vibrant red, gold, and green, filled with intricate geometric and floral designs; the blue sections display a lattice pattern with red-and-white medallions, while the red areas depict stylized flowers and foliage highlighted by gilded details. The composition is dynamic, marked by bold color contrasts and a harmonious blend of symmetry and asymmetry—typical of late Edo to early Meiji Imari ware. Dimensions: diameter 21.5 cm, height 3 cm. The plate is in very good condition, showing only minor signs of use consistent with its age. The form of this plate evokes the richness of 19th-century Japanese ceramic aesthetics, where each detail speaks to the Hichozan Shinpo workshop’s care for composition, color, and ornament. The patterns, painted with both freedom and precision, suggest a quiet dialogue about nature and the cyclical rhythm of the seasons, as if the dish preserves a fragment of a blooming garden from a transitional era. Golden highlights subtly catch the light, reminiscent of moments of ceremonial focus, while the interplay of asymmetry and geometric order reflects a period when tradition and new influences met in Japanese craftsmanship. The plate may be displayed alone on a low console or
