This serving vessel for hot dishes, produced by the renowned Groszkowski workshop in Warsaw circa 1900, exemplifies utilitarian craftsmanship from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Made of white metal, silver-plated, the piece features a low, wide silhouette and a minimalist profile. Two rectangular, flat handles are seamlessly integrated into the body, providing both functionality and a restrained, geometric rhythm. The gently domed lid is topped with a turned finial, its subtly glossy surface contrasting with the vessel’s overall matte finish. The coloration is a cool silver tone with natural patina, displaying fine scratches and occasional darkening—hallmarks of age typical for silver-plate from this period.
