ABOUT PRODUCTID 19493
This pressed glass serving platter was created in the 1970s, designed by Jan Sylwester Drost—one of the leading figures in Polish glass design. Manufactured by the HSG Ząbkowice glassworks, it embodies the era's aesthetic with a high level of craftsmanship. The platter is made of pressed sodium glass in a translucent rosaline pink; its entire surface is covered with a fine, matte texture reminiscent of frost, softly scattering light and creating a shimmering effect. The three distinct, organically shaped sections are separated by smoothly contoured, slightly glossy dividers that flow seamlessly into the form. Irregular, rounded edges and balanced proportions result in a piece that is both utilitarian and decorative. The platter is preserved in very good original condition: it is free of scratches, chips, or visible repairs. The gentle pink of rosaline glass, the subtle, frosted texture, and the quietly flowing partitions evoke the spirit of 1970s Polish design, where everyday items carried a sense of poetic simplicity. Like a quiet voice from its era, the platter tells of a time when local design blended natural inspiration with practical function. The form abandons strict geometry in favor of soft, organic undulations—delivering not just utility, but a sense of the diffused, gentle light of the Polish home. In this glass, function and celebration meet; the rosaline tone softens the everyday and brings a quiet ceremony to familiar rituals. The platter would suit a living or dining room table, especially when paired with other glass or ceramic pieces from
