These serving tongs with claw-shaped ends were produced by the Norblin & Co. manufactory in Warsaw around 1907, exemplifying craftsmanship at the intersection of late Historicism and early Art Nouveau. Cast in brass and finished with a galvanic coating, they present a cool, slightly matte, silvery sheen with areas of gentle patina. Richly decorative floral motifs and a beaded border adorn the handles, their relief highlighted by darker accents in the recesses. The proportions are slender and elongated, with a soft curve and a sculptural transition to the animal paw-shaped ends, rendered with notable precision. The surface is mostly smooth with areas of pronounced relief and minor traces of use typical for their age. The construction is solid, with carefully crafted joints and no visible repairs. The maker's mark confirms their authenticity. The tongs are preserved in very good condition, showing only minor tarnish and no significant damage.These tongs evoke the spirit of the early 20th century—a time when everyday objects reflected both taste and status, and craftsmanship aspired to artistic expression.
