This exceptionally large serving tray (77 × 49 cm) was produced at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries by the Albrecht Kohler manufactory in Vienna. Crafted from brass plated with silver, the tray displays a cool, silvery tone with a subtle, warm undertone. Its entire surface is adorned with a precise guilloché (engine-turned) pattern—a delicate, repeating wave motif that flows into a central, symmetrical medallion featuring floral and scrollwork around a blank cartouche, likely intended for a monogram. The gently rounded edges are defined by a triple-ribbed border, while the robust handles, shaped with organic lines, reflect the transition from late Historicism to early Art Nouveau. The maker's mark appears on the underside of one handle. The tray’s construction is solid and substantial, with a glossy finish that catches the light and highlights the meticulous craftsmanship. It is preserved in very good condition, showing only minimal signs of use and no dents or damage. The tray carries the spirit of fin-de-siècle Vienna—a period when the city was a center of both refined elegance and design innovation.
