ABOUT PRODUCTID 36959
This set of four bridge ashtrays from the 1960s is a product of ZPS Ćmielów, one of Poland’s most renowned porcelain manufacturers. Each ashtray is crafted from high-quality glazed porcelain in the mid-century modern style, with a compact, round form and symmetrical proportions (9.2 × 9.2 cm, height 1.5 cm). The white center of each piece is decorated with the four card suits—hearts, spades, clubs, diamonds—in black, red, and orange, while the rims are finished in vivid, glossy colors: purple, teal, red, and burgundy. Four wide, reflective gold segments serve as cigarette rests on each ashtray. The set is preserved in very good condition, with no visible damage, wear, or signs of restoration; the gilding and colored surfaces remain intact and vibrant. This is an authentic Ćmielów set, sold as a complete set of four pieces. These ashtrays evoke the spirit of the 1960s, a time when Polish design sought conversation with Western trends while maintaining its own wit and lightness. The colorful rims and gold accents catch the light, recalling the atmosphere of club bridge games—moments spent among friends, cards, ashes, and quiet laughter. Each element of the set seems to speak of a world where everyday objects were not only functional but also carried a sense of playful decoration. The set could be placed on a low coffee table in the living room, where it becomes a subtle ornament and a nod to decades past. It pairs well with other mid-century pieces—geometric decanters, utility glassware, or colorful ceramics—or as a striking accent in a more contemporary, eclectic interior. These ashtrays will be
